Next up, Mt. Everest.

Prior to Saturday Isabelle had climbed a total of one steps. So when I placed her at the foot of our staircase, I was hoping she might climb 3 or 4. I was wrong. She immediately wobbled up 9 stairs with great zest, all the while babbling on happily in baby speak. After a short rest she conquered the remaining 6 stairs and triumphed at the top. Time to put a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs I suppose.

She seems to get more mobile each day. She crawls faster. You can now call her from another room and (if she doesn't start whining and fussing) will come scuttling in to you. Its simply adorable. She pulls herself up on everything. Can make transfers occasional between furniture and has gotten fancy - often holding on with only one hand. She still doesn't take too many steps, just a few here or there.

One of Isabelle's favorite food is berry's. She loves them (a blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, boysenberry mix). They are messy, which is a drawback to feeding them. That and they apparently cause Isabelle to turn into an crazed loon-berry, as can be seen below (come on tell me she doesn't look like she is berry drunk and slightly deranged!?!)

In old-news she still likes to eat grass...

And in slightly newer news, here's a couple of pictures of our new kitty-boy Meeko. He is a very sweet boy. Mean Mini continues to bully him. Sigh... but we really like him. He apparently has little patience for being "petted" (read: having large clumps of hair pulled out) by a smiling baby. Yes, after a few fistfuls (we try to tell Isabelle "gentle" but the lack of any vocabulary and Frankenstien-like coordination really hinders the process) he bit her. It was clearly a warning, but broke the skin ever so slightly. Enough to make her cry for about 20 seconds. Not enough to stop her from immediately trying to pet him again. The learning curve remains flat.
